Dallas Mavericks: LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving Big 3 Could Be in the Works, Per Stephen A. Smith
David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

According to reports, the Los Angeles Lakers nearly reunited LeBron James with Kyrie Irving last year. The latter, however, ended up joining the Dallas Mavericks to form a superstar pairing with Luka Doncic.

At this point, it appears that a mind-blowing Big 3 of LeBron, Irving, and Doncic has all of a sudden become a distinct possibility — at least according to ESPN broadcaster Stephen A. Smith.

Dallas Mavericks News: LeBron James to the Mavs?

The most crucial piece of the puzzle here will be Bronny James, who as it is, has already attracted a ton of attention ahead of the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft. According to Stephen A., Dallas could emerge as a potential landing spot for Bronny in the second round with the Mavs eyeing a possible LeBron coup from the Lakers:

“But here’s a newsflash, what I’ve also heard. Bronny James may not make it to the Lakers’ second round pick. Because if a team like the Dallas Mavericks could position themselves to get him in the second round, they’ll take him. Because LeBron said he wants to go where his son goes and if you’re the Dallas Mavericks and you got Kyrie, and you got Luka, and LeBron James is willing to come to big D, that might be the first time something is more popular than the Cowboy,” Smith said (h/t Amtthew Valento of Lakers Nation).

That’s pretty mind-blowing if you ask me. Then again, it does not go beyond the realm of possibility. LeBron has been very vocal about wanting to play with his son in the NBA, and he would probably be willing to do close to anything to make his dream come true — including a significant salary drop just to make the money work in Dallas.

Stephen A. isn’t plucking this idea out of thin air either, so as they always say, when there’s smoke, there’s fire.
